Fort Bend County publishes proposed fiscal 2027 budget
Fort Bend County’s proposed fiscal 2027 budget lists a county tax rate of $0.412 per $100 of value and a combined county-and-drainage rate of $0.422. The budget says property-tax revenue would rise by $23.3 million from the prior year, including $10.2 million from new property. County reports mosquito drop after aerial treatment
Fort Bend County Health and Human Services reported an 83% overall reduction in mosquito activity after aerial treatment prompted by heavy rain and flooding. Trap counts in targeted areas fell from 109,536 before treatment to 18,711 afterward, while one area remained under added surveillance. County health officials advised residents to drain standing water, limit exposure at dusk and dawn, and use EPA-approved repellent.

Pecan Grove POA opens nominations for three board seats
Pecan Grove’s Property Owners Association will take nominations for three trustee seats during its September 15 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Pecan Grove MUD building, 751 Pitts Road. Candidates must own property in the association and accept a two-year volunteer term. The POA says nominees must be named at this meeting to appear on the official proxy and preprinted ballot; later nominations will be write-in candidates.
